Matthew Helgemoe earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Hamline University. After receiving his Bachelor's Degree, Matt obtained his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law. While in law school, Matt had the honor and privilege of volunteering with the William Mitchell Law Clinic, where he provided pro-bono legal services to small business owners and non-profit organizations. Matt's exemplary academic performance during law school earned him a CALI Award, a writing award nomination, and recognition for public service. In addition, Matt also served as a member of the William Mitchell Law Review.

Prior to joining the Peters Law Firm, Matt honed his legal skills through multiple positions at large, Fortune listed Minnesota companies.  After receiving his Juris Doctor, Matt became an attorney with the Peters Law Firm.

During his legal career, Matt has represented corporate and individual clients in both litigation and transaction matters.  Matt has extensive experience in negotiating and drafting complex transactional and corporate governance documents, and has served as lead counsel for clients in several, multi-million dollar merger and acquisition transactions. Matt is also an accomplished litigator and has drafted and argued countless successful motions on behalf of his clients, in both state and federal courts, and has a proven track record of success in achieving positive results for his clients through dispute settlement and zealous advocacy.
